Introduction
Brilliant Zone operates the URL shortener at yfi.ae from Muscat, Oman. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the service, including anonymous link creation, account features, and paid Pro subscriptions when they become available.
By creating an account, creating a short link, or clicking a short link, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Paid Pro subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), acting as our merchant of record. Paddle issues receipts, handles international payment cards, collects applicable taxes, and processes refunds. Your relationship with Paddle is separate from, and in addition to, your relationship with us under these Terms.
Note: these Terms are not drafted by a lawyer. We will update them as the product evolves and as we receive legal review. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
Acceptable use
We offer the service for legitimate uses: sharing links, running marketing campaigns, tracking click attribution, and shortening long URLs for readability. We ask you to:
- Provide accurate registration details.
- Keep your account credentials safe and not share them.
- Use short links for destinations you are authorised to promote.
- Respect the rate limits and per-plan quotas described on the /pricing page.
- Cooperate with us on abuse investigations concerning links you created.
Prohibited content and behaviour
You may not use the service to distribute, host, or point to:
- Malware — executables, installers, or pages that attempt to download harmful software onto visitors' devices.
- Phishing — pages designed to impersonate another service to capture credentials or personal data.
- Spam — bulk-distributed links with no clear legitimate purpose, including pages that pay for clicks without disclosing that fact.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any such link is reported to the appropriate authorities and the account permanently terminated.
- Content infringing intellectual property rights, including copyrighted material distributed without the rightsholder's permission.
- Doxxing and harassment — pages whose purpose is to expose the private information of an identifiable person or to incite harassment.
- Evasion of other platforms' blocks — using yfi.ae as a cloak to route around a different service's link filters or suspension.
- Content otherwise unlawful under Omani law or the law of any jurisdiction where the content is accessed.
Anyone can report abusive links at /report. We review reports within 48 hours and disable links that violate these Terms; our decision log is recorded in our administrative audit trail.
Your account
Accounts are personal and non-transferable. One account per person. You are responsible for all activity on your account, including links created from it.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. For Oman this is ordinarily age 18.
Keep your email address up to date — it is how we reach you about security events, billing, and policy changes. Password recovery is tied to email, so losing access to your registered email may cut you off from your own account.
Service availability
The Free tier is provided on a best-effort basis with no service-level commitment. We may rate-limit, suspend, or remove features without notice if abuse patterns require it.
The Pro tier is operated with reasonable effort toward continuous availability. A contractual SLA is not part of the Pro plan today; a forthcoming higher-volume tier aimed at agencies will carry an explicit SLA.
Planned maintenance windows are announced in advance where practicable. Unplanned outages are resolved as quickly as we can manage.
Account termination
Your right to end the relationship. You can delete your account at any time at /account/delete. The account is marked deleted immediately, your session is invalidated, and all short links you created stop redirecting. Permanent hard-deletion happens 30 days later; during that window the deletion is reversible on request.
Our right to end the relationship. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, produce abuse reports we uphold, or put the service at risk. Wherever practical we warn first; for clear violations (malware, phishing, CSAM) suspension is immediate.
Paid Pro subscriptions that are terminated for breach are not refunded. Paid Pro subscriptions that are terminated by us for non-breach reasons (e.g. we discontinue the Pro tier) are refunded on a pro-rated basis for the remainder of the paid period.
Subscription terms (Pro)
Pro subscriptions are billed in USD (currently USD 12.99 / month; approximately OMR 5) in advance through Paddle. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Paddle displays a local-currency estimate at checkout based on your location.
You can cancel at any time from your billing settings (available when Pro billing launches). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep Pro until that date and then automatically drop to the Free tier, with your existing links intact.
Prices on the /pricing page are indicative at the time of publication and may be adjusted for future subscribers. Existing subscribers receive at least 30 days' notice of any price increase affecting their renewal.
VAT and other applicable taxes are added by Paddle at checkout depending on your location. Refund policy is described at /refund.
Intellectual property
Your content stays yours. The destination URLs you shorten, titles, tags, and categories are your content. We do not claim ownership of them.
The platform is ours. The Brilliant Zone software, design, wordmark, and the yfi.ae domain are our intellectual property or that of our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any rights to the platform itself.
We operate a grant to use the service as intended — creating short links, viewing analytics, exporting your own data. Reverse engineering the service, scraping it at scale, or using it to build a competing URL shortener are not permitted.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". Within the limits permitted by Omani law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement for the service itself.
We are not responsible for the content of the destinations your short links point to, or the destinations that short links created by other users point to. Short links do not imply endorsement of the destination.
Where a liability does arise out of our provision of the service, our aggregate liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid to us in that period. For Free-tier users that figure is zero. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be lawfully excluded under Omani law, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by gross negligence.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman, including the Omani Civil Transactions Law and the Oman Consumer Protection Law, as amended. The courts of Muscat have jurisdiction over any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably.
Where applicable consumer-protection rules of your country of residence give you mandatory rights we cannot contract around, those rights continue to apply alongside these Terms.
Before filing a court action, please email privacy@yfi.ae so we have an opportunity to resolve the issue directly. Many disputes are resolved quickly once we see the facts.
Changes to these Terms
We will update this page as the product evolves — when features change, when we add a new processor, when the subscription details are revised, or when legal review produces adjustments. Material changes will be summarised in a note at the top of this page for a reasonable period after the change takes effect. Your continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
